JRun is an  application server developed by Macromedia it is based on Sun Microsystems Java 2 Enterprise Edition  (J2EE).JRun  is an application server used for developing and deploying Java applications. It  provides the speed and reliability required to deploy and manage  standards-based Internet applications. JRun consists many technologies Like  Java Server Page (JSP), Java servlets, the Java Transaction Service (JTS), Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) and the Java Messaging Service (JMS).  Jrun has features for accelerated deployment and powerful scalability, It is an beautifully architected, web-services enabled  platform with full Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) compatibility.
