WHAT IS WEBLOGIC ?
Weblogic is an application server and it is also a HTTP server.
Weblogic is based on java 2 Enterprise Edition plateform.It is a server software
application which is run on middle tier
between the backend and front end. Weblogic server is
BEA's product.BEA Systems, Inc. is a subsidiary of
Oracle Corporation .Oracle acquired BEA in 2008, following which it
became Oracle WebLogic. As today's industry-leading e-commerce
transaction platform, WebLogic
Server allows to quickly develop and deploy secure, scalable ,reliable and manageable applications. Weblogic
manages system-level details
so we can concentrate on business logic and presentation. It is one of the leading e-commerce online transaction
processing platform, which developed to connect users in a distributed
computing environment ,to facilitate the integration of mainframe
applications
with distributed data and applications.Weblogic server is plateform independent server .it can be run
on any operating sysytem. so, we can say it is
cross plateform server.Weblogic server is used to develop and deploy e-commerce
applications across distributed, heterogeneous
computing
environments.
Features of Weblogic.

services as it is help in develop and deploy applications across distributed
heterogeneous computing environments. and it is cross plateform also. Web
services use a cross-platform, cross-language data model (XML) to provide interoperability among application components on diverse
hardware and software platforms .
2.E-business scalability:- Enterprise JavaBean (EJB) components,
resource pooling, and connection sharing make applications very scalable. 3.Security:-Weblogic server provide Secure Socket
Layer (SSL) . SSL provide support for encrypting data transmitted across server
and client.
4.Number of client options:-Weblogic server
support web browser's and number of clients that use HTTP protocol, RMI, IIOP
and mobile devices that uses WAP (wireless access protocol).
WEBLOGIC SERVER'S VERSIONS
The latest release of weblogic server is
WebLogic Server 11gR1 PS3 (10.3.4) on 15 Jan 2011 from 1998 no of
versions of weblogic released but now the stable version is
WebLogic Server 11gR1 PS3 (10.3.4)
